Welcome to the Lassen Plan Website
Welcome to Lassen Plan, your portal for information and announcements about the Lassen County Area Plan process.
How will the Process Work? Where can I find drafts?
Between late fall 2008 and fall 2010, Lassen County will work with the public and communities to update the County’s General Plan, focusing on the area between Susanville and Hallelujah Junction (commonly referred to as the “study area”). The plan will guide future growth, conservation, and investment in the study area for the next 20 years. Read more about General Plans and the schedule for this effort on the FAQ’s (What is a General Plan) page.
The Lassen County Area Plan includes three project phases:
- Profile and Vision
During this phase we will prepare a County Profile that summaries current information and trends and identifies key opportunities and constraints in the study area. Working with the public and committee members we will identify issues, establish key community values and prepare a preferred vision for the future.

During this phase we will prepare a draft plan for the study area, for public review.

During this phase the County will prepare an Environmental Impact Review (EIR) of the proposed draft plan, and will finalize the plan as needed. The final plan will be revised and public hearings will be held for plan adoption.
