Phase 1: Profile and Vision

Key Issues

The Vision Advisory Committee (VAC) worked to identify the key issues and opportunities for the County’s future. The community helped refine the list of issues and opportunities at four community Visioning Workshops.

Profile

The County Profile document provides an overview of current conditions and trends throughout the study area and countywide, including demographics, economy, existing land use, transportation, services, and environmental hazards. Planning area “snapshots” provide condensed information about issues and land use characteristics within each community. A series of inventory maps display existing land uses in each planning area.

Vision

Four community Visioning Workshops were held in different locations throughout the study area to refine the list of issues and vision ideas generated by the VAC. After the community Visioning Workshops, a preliminary vision statement and set of guiding principles will be developed for each planning area.
