Community Workshops and Events

We will hold community workshops and events at key points during the planning process. You will be able to participate in hands-on planning exercises that are meaningful and fun. We will use a variety of approaches to capture your ideas during different stages of the process—including using maps and markers, and “key pad polling” devices. Events will be in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere, and locations will vary. Plan to participate at these meetings:

• Visioning workshops: Four workshops were held in different locations throughout the study area to identify unique community values. More than 50 citizens attended these meetings.
• Scenarios workshops: Two workshops will be held in different locations to gather input on key choices facing communities.
• Open houses: A series of open houses will be held to review the plan elements and policy directions, draft plan, and Environmental Impact Report documents.

Attend Vision Advisory Committee Meetings

The Vision Advisory Committee is comprised of representatives from each planning area. This group will offer their unique viewpoints and local knowledge in order to help guide the planning process. The VAC will meet periodically to review products, share ideas, and craft recommendations for the plan.

These meetings are open to the public, and each meeting will allow some time for public comments at the beginning or end. Feel free to attend, listen to the discussion, and share your ideas or concerns. Vision Advisory Committee meeting notes will be posted on the Meeting Summaries page.

Board of Supervisors Meetings

The planning team will meet with the Board of Supervisors at key points in the process to present materials and obtain input.
